Compressors can be used in various technological processes and conditions. Wide range of options, configurations and designs is needed to ensure maximum versatility and compliance with customer and project requirements:

  • Compressor drive can be electric or internal combustion engine (in most cases, natural gas). In the absence of electricity supply, ICE also drives cooling system, ensures power supply for automation and compressor control systems, control and shut-off valves.
  • Design and layout of compressor units. Depending on the location of the equipment detailed design of the compressor is developed in the technological side, on the open area, in the technological room. For example, the ACS shield can be placed directly on the frame or the general industrial design for installation in a separate control room.
  • Depending on the technological application, the connection between the compressor and the drive can be provided by means of a couplings with flexible disks or a belt drive.
  • The capacity can be adjusted by means of re-circulation, compressor speed, adjustment of the gas pressure at the inlet, adjustment of the cylinder volume.
  • The shut-off and control valves can be activated by means of solenoids, pneumatic with compressed air or natural gas from the compressor.
  • In a case that inlet gas is mine methane or flare gas, selection of filters and gas cleaning and drainage systems is necessary for the normal operation of the compressor

All these options and not only have both advantages and disadvantages, so a detailed analysis of the compressor requirements is necessary for their proper selection.
